Transforming SMB Sales with Salesforce Commerce Cloud: How a Leading Security Services Enterprise Built a Seamless B2B Buying Experience

In today’s fast-changing B2B landscape, customers expect the same seamless, self-service buying experience that they enjoy as consumers. To meet this demand, a leading enterprise in the security and cash management services industry partnered with Mirketa — a Salesforce Commerce Cloud Partner — to design and implement a robust Commerce Cloud solution that enables small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) to discover, purchase, and schedule installation of security products and services online with ease. The implementation integrated Salesforce Commerce Cloud with Sales Cloud, CPQ, ServiceNow, and multiple real-time verification APIs to create an end-to-end digital onboarding experience.

Intelligent Application & Workflow Management

The implementation automated complex onboarding workflows using Salesforce Flow, custom Apex logic, and API-based validation services.

  • Automated Routing: High-value applications or non-serviceable requests are automatically routed to the sales team for personalized follow-up.
  • Amendment Workflow: A secure compliance-driven process enables internal teams to request customer updates, sending tokenized links that bring users back to the exact page needing revision.
  • Dynamic Serviceability: Integrated Google Maps API and proximity validation ensure real-time serviceability checks for new customer locations.
  • Google Analytics & RECAPTCHA: Embedded analytics and security protect against fraud and provide deep insights into user engagement.

Seamless CPQ-to-Commerce Hand-off

A hallmark of this implementation was the tight connection between Salesforce CPQ and Commerce Cloud. Once a quote is approved in CPQ, an automated hand-off triggers a unique, tokenized email link that allows the customer to complete their purchase on the storefront. This bridges the sales-led and self-service journeys, ensuring consistent data flow, unified pricing, and zero re-entry of information.

Automated User Provisioning & SSO

When a customer’s application is approved, Salesforce automatically provisions a new B2B Commerce user, assigns the right pricebook and permissions, and synchronizes user data with ServiceNow. Single Sign-On (SSO) with the Customer Portal allows users to manage fulfillment, change requests, and post-purchase service updates in real time.

Automated KYC & Business Verification (Multi-API Integration)

To reduce manual intervention and improve compliance accuracy, Mirketa integrated multiple real-time APIs into Salesforce:

  • Moody’s: Validates EIN and retrieves verified company data.
  • Veriff: Performs digital identity verification for beneficial owners.
  • LexisNexis: Executes risk and compliance checks using complete application data.
  • Banking API: Validates financial information to prevent data entry errors.

Digital Contract Lifecycle with DocuSign

Once all validations are complete, Salesforce automatically generates digital contracts and attestation forms via DocuSign. This ensures that customers can review, sign, and return documents without manual follow-ups, maintaining a completely digital onboarding cycle.

End-to-End Downstream Integration (Middleware & ServiceNow)

The entire onboarding journey is connected downstream through middleware integrations. Once contracts are signed, the system syncs Customer Master and Financial JSON payloads to ServiceNow for fulfillment and installation scheduling. This integration ensures that every step — from customer signup to installation — is automated, trackable, and compliant.

Data Archival & Lifecycle Management

To maintain data hygiene and improve system performance, Salesforce automation rules archive inactive or incomplete applications automatically. For example, if pricing isn’t initiated within seven days, the lead or application is archived to keep records clean and relevant.

Business Impact

The Salesforce Commerce Cloud solution built by Mirketa transformed the SMB onboarding experience for the client. It reduced the average onboarding time by enabling self-service automation, minimized compliance errors through multi-API integrations, and provided a scalable framework for real-time business validation and downstream integration. The system now supports dual onboarding models — self-service and sales-led — with a shared data backbone that powers analytics, marketing, and service automation.
